The Eternal Charm of Paris: A Love Affair Captured in Calendars and Keepsakes

Bonjour and welcome to the inaugural post of our Paris-inspired blog! As I sit here, sipping a café au lait by the window of our favorite spot, I can’t help but smile as I put pen to paper to share our experiences, both grand and petite, along the cobbled streets and grand boulevards of this most magnificent city.

There’s a timeless adage that speaks to the heart of our experience: “Stop and smell the roses”. In a world that never pauses, where the pace of life and chaos can often feel overwhelming, the beauty we’re surrounded by here in Paris acts as a gentle reminder to breathe, to live fully, to savor every moment. It’s our daily communion with beauty that helps us hang on during the tough times and lifts us higher during the good.

Each day in Paris unfolds like a page from a well-loved novel, familiar yet always brimming with new tales waiting to be discovered. We’ve become regulars in our own Parisian narrative, wandering the broad avenues and leafy pathways, the city’s history whispering in our ears with every step we take. Paris isn’t just a city; it’s an every day wonder that we’re fortunate enough to call our playground.

One of our most cherished rituals is our visit to the Jardin du Luxembourg. Whether we’re there for an early morning run, a leisurely stroll, or simply to give our dog a taste of Parisian splendor (though we always keep to the designated dog paths), it never ceases to amaze us. The Luxembourg Palace, designed by Salomon de Brosse in the 17th century, stands as a majestic reminder of France’s regal past, while the surrounding gardens are a kaleidoscope of color and life. Amidst the lush greenery, a careful eye will spot statues that tell of myths and legends, fountains that dance to the symphony of the city, and flower beds that could rival any painter’s palette.

It is this beauty, so abundant and freely given, that we’ve captured in the Paris 2024 wall calendar that we’ve just released.  Each month is a tribute to the enchantment that is Paris, each image tells a sliver of the history of this majestic city.  But we wanted to offer more than just images—we wanted to create something tangible that could be part of your everyday life. Hence, our collection of mugs and tote bags was born, each piece adorned with photographs taken during our Parisian adventures.

As you flip through the calendar, or sip from one of our mugs, or carry a tote bag on your shoulder, we hope that you’ll feel a piece of the joy and wonder that Paris has bestowed upon us. And remember, whether you’re walking in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, or simply dreaming of your next visit, beauty is all around us, in Paris and beyond, ready to be embraced and to offer comfort and inspiration.
